Windows Hosting

April 07, 2004 at 4:34am

I run a number of course websites as part of my job. I don't teach all of them — just one this semester — rather I attempt to keep them live so our students can talk to each other. Twice within the last week I've had to perform emergency miracle work to keep the sites afloat.

Why? It's a Windows server.

Sure, tell me I'm being biased. Tell me Windows is just as secure as anything else so long as you maintain it and stay on top of the security “issues.”

Give me Linux + Apache anyday — and as of today that's what we're running on.
